Thanksgiving is always a little bit crazy in the Messer house with lots of family and lots and lots of food. So when we found out only my three older brothers were coming we thought this year was gonna be a small thanksgiving, only to end up having my sister-in-laws entire family come and end up with 25 people for Thanksgiving! Although I missed it because at 6 in the morning on Thanksgiving day a group of 13 of us filled a 15 passenger van and headed for Denver, Colorado! And spent Thanksgiving day hanging out at our hotel. Then Friday morning we woke up and headed for the distribution center in Denver for Operation Christmas Child and spent 8 hours going through examining boxes, taking out financial contributions for Samaritans purse. If the children are caught with any money they're lives can be in danger ounce that is done they are moved over to where any inappropriate items are taken out and replaced with more appropriate items and then taped and put in boxes with their according ages. By the end of this we were all dead tired, exhausted more like it! But it was great to be a part of it we estimated that with the thirteen of us we probably were handling at least 2,000 boxes!crazy to think about but you can definitely get a lot done in 8 hours! Then we got up early on Saturday morning to head back home! And at first i was a little disappointed to head home it was great to be with good friends, but I got home to find out that I get to be an Aunt ounce again! I was so excited to find out my Brother Phil and his wife Jessica were expecting there second, you can imagine how excited i was to find out that my brother Dan and his wife Haley are expecting there first!!!So i will get 2 nieces/nephews! Best news i've gotten in a while!

I'm glad you got an opportunity to help with such a special ministry and that you were willing to give up a Thanksgiving celebration to do it! That is so exciting about your siblings expecting! I only have one little niece so far, but I remember how excited I was when my brother and sister-in-law told me they were expecting.
